I found out this week that I have a big fibroid that needs medical attention - which explains why I’ve been in constant pain the last oh year plus - and am focusing on not being a hater. My pelvis needs happy thoughts and the universe delivered.
I found this bit of happy pelvic action on the Supreme Goddess’ blog (apologies for not posting the video here, but it’s horking my layout for some reason).
“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.” –Woodrow Wilson
With that in mind, I refer you to an enriching experience brought to my attention by the amazoniowan and the letter M:
‘Tis an earworm not lightly shaken, as all my shower tiles discovered this morning.Mahna Mahna mooves me, baby.
But then you knew that, so this should come as no surprise - my favorite blog of the moment is Stavros the Wonder Chicken / Empty Bottle because of this phrase (used as justification for beginning to blog): “…my geek cilia started wiggling…” I think I gotta make that my new sig line. Not sure if I should even give context, as those who got ‘em will understand, and those who don’t don’t need to know.
–”What matters is that you do good work. What matters is that you produce things that are true and will stand.”
–”No is for wimps. No is for pussies. No is to live small and embittered, cherishing the opportunities you missed because they might have sent the wrong message.”
… girlish squeal of delight and much licking of pages to both of them! Gods I have such good taste in blogs, I amaze myself.
Ohmigod I’m in lurve!!! Check out languagehat even if you’re not remotely a language or linguistics geek like me (but I’ll forgive your one-language-speaking-pitiful-self just ‘cuz you’re cute), it’s super keen neato cool with a list of other links that spiral and branch off into the internet’s web o’lanugage-related stuff and a wonderfully clear, concise explanation of Arabic naming practices, which is what sucked my eyeballs into the blog in the first place. Ack - I’m losing my English, I’m so excited. Guess I’ll really have to finish my thesis now, huh?
