Marriage Schmarriage

This is exactly how I’m feeling about that whole marriage thing at the moment. Only with more crying, and some throwing up of perfectly good Lucky Charms. Yeah, I know that drowning my sorrows in high-sugar breakfast cereal is almost pitiful and definitely embarrassing and that food is not, in fact, love… but hey, whaddya want? I’m feeling all manic-depressive about my ability to write poetry at the moment, so going goth-emo on paper would be much more upsetting.

Social Goodness

Okay, so everyone and their grandmother lurk here. At least I get company ;->

Had the best long weekend of social fun goodness, which I have desperately needed. Friday: went out for a drink (okay, a double chocolate martini) and a long gossip/bonding session with a girlfriend; Saturday: had high tea at Paddington’s with another girlfriend on Saturday afternoon, then met up with assorted NaNos (including the illustrious Chris Baty) to go see The Parking Lot Plays, which I highly recommend to all and sundry (if you’re in LA or anywhere near Hollywood, GO SEE IT!) and socialized afterwards at Hollywood & Vine until the wee hours; Sunday: spent the morning of diligently sleeping in lieu of housework, hooked up with a few friends at Zen Zoo Tea for boba, raided Dutton’s Books, then took in the awesome Spoken Interludes; Monday: had a two-martini lunch in honor of Martin Luther King, then sat on a park bench soaking up the sun, cruised the 3rd Street Promenade and rode the coaster at the Pier. Why am I going into such great detail here? To prove to myself that I do indeed have a social life. Well, that’s already been proven… okay, so to remind myself that I’m indeed having fun, dammit! Despite that whole divorce lawyer suckage thing…
